Wayne State University, in cooperation with AIAG, is offering a one-week, automotive-industry focused Global Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Seminar that provides purchasing and supply chain executives with the knowledge to significantly improve company supply chain management contributions to cost, financial, and overall performance.
The seminar will take place October 31 - November 4, 2016 at The Renaissance Center in Detroit, and space is limited.
The program is also aimed at leaders in finance, product development, operations, and others who influence the success of their automotive supply chains, as well as those who will be undertaking new supply chain management leadership roles.
“With its high capital investments and global network of OEMs and suppliers, the auto industry is extremely complex,” says Joel Karczewski, vice president, business development for AIAG. “Executives must have a greater understanding of supply chain technology as well as product and process innovation. This in-depth seminar is geared toward those who can influence positive change in purchasing and supply chain strategies in their companies.”

Taylor, chair of the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management at WSU’s Mike Ilitch School of Business. “With five consecutive days of intense presentations and discussions on leading edge supply chain topics and interaction with the top supply chain academics and industry professionals, the seminar delivers a deeper dive than can be achieved in a typical one- or two-day conference.

The program addresses complex automotive purchasing and supply chain topics — such as risk identification and mitigation, supply network interdependency, and sourcing strategies — and is taught by academics and industry executives with extensive industry experience. Participants will gain:
