AIAG launched its free, online Core Tools Self-Assessment (CTSA) in 2012 to help individuals measure their competency in the four Automotive Quality Core Tools: APQP/PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC. The CTSA is a timed, open book self-assessment available in nine different languages (i.e., Brazilian Portuguese, English, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish – Latin America). These nine translations have allowed 18,402 individuals from 89 different countries and 3,215 different companies to complete 22,561 self-assessments since 2012.

New information on human trafficking from the U.S. Customs & Border Protection presented in a webinar last week is now available on the AIAG website. For the Corporate Responsibility Steering Committee (CRSC), 2020 was a busy year. At the end of 2019, the group decided our mission, vision and objectives needed revision, as they no longer reflected the progressive direction the group wanted to project for the automotive industry. Consequently, the CRSC worked together over the course of multiple face-to-face meetings to establish an updated mission and vision for the future of ESG leadership within the automotive industry.

At AIAG, we know that Core Tools certification exams are a great way to demonstrate competency in the automotive Core Tools – and we’re making it easier than ever to take these exams at your convenience, with all four certification exams (i.e., APQP/PPAP, FMEA 4^th Edition, MSA and SPC) now available online, throughout 2021.

An AIAG member throughout both his collegiate and professional career to date, Honda North America’s Tony Mariucci believes that active engagement with AIAG helps drive positive change in our supply chain. Now, as the latest addition to AIAG’s Quality Steering Committee, Tony looks forward to continuing his involvement by participating in initiatives that support organizations at all levels with common standards and guidelines to reduce complexities in the automotive supply chain and its products.

In response to subscriber requests, AIAG has added two new features to our CTS Software!

The first of these new additions allows users to add Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols in CTS. As shown below, a popup window provides the various GD&T symbols that can be entered into Product Characteristics and Process Characteristics fields, as well as other areas of the control plan and FMEA. Of the 21 available GD&T symbols, users can view seven at a time, and can access the remaining symbols by clicking the left or right arrows in the popup window.
