AIAG Core Tools Software Project Update (and Webinar Link!)

graph on laptop blog

Last week, AIAG program manager John Cachat conducted a webinar discussing AIAG’s Core Tools Software Project. In addition to a status update, John shared an overview of the program and a short demo with more than 1,000 professionals tuning in from nearly 50 different countries.

As users of the Quality Core Tools know, these methods are central to conducting business in the automotive industry. Currently, Core Tools such as FMEA and control plan are being completed using spreadsheets or specialized software – however, many feel the need for a better solution. In fact, AIAG’s recent “Voice of the Customer” survey found that the majority of Core Tools users prefer a solution that includes robust security, form linkage, project management/task tracker, reporting, and international multi-lingual capability.

In response to this need, AIAG volunteers – in partnership with Microsoft – are designing a Software as a Service (SaaS)/cloud application to replace the former AIAG Forms Spreadsheet Disc. The new AIAG Core Tools Software will be more intuitive, provide more flexibility and include features requested by AIAG members in the Voice of the Customer Survey.
