AIAG Members Receive Special Rate for Surface Finishing Applications Workshop and Access to SUR/FIN

The National Association for Surface Finishing and AIAG are hosting a special workshop for automotive materials engineers, supplier quality engineers, and metallurgists in Atlanta on June 20, 2017 at the Georgia World Congress Center. AIAG members receive a special rate of $100 to attend the Surface Finishing Applications for Automotive Workshop as well as the Automotive Sessions offered at SUR/FIN Manufacturing & Technology Trade Show & Conference.

Registration includes:

  • Sustainability Summit (Monday, June 19)
  • Welcome Reception on the Show Floor (Monday Evening, June 19)
  • Access to the Exhibit Floor on all Days
  • Show Floor Lunches
  • Complimentary Keynote Sessions (Monday and Tuesday)
  • Surface Finishing Applications for Automotive Workshop (Tuesday, June 20, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.)
  • Automotive Sessions (Tuesday, June 20, and Wednesday, June 21)

AIAG Executive Director J. Scot Sharland will deliver the SUR/FIN Monday keynote address at 1:00 p.m.

Specifically, the Surface Finishing Applications for Automotive Workshop will cover the use of plated deposits and areas such as selecting suitable applications, benefits and limitations of specific coatings, making material specifications more robust, and overcoming common defects by understanding root cause analysis. The workshop also includes information on applying AIAG CQI-11 and CQI-12 Plating and Coating System Assessments, such as learning to apply CQI to performance objectives and interpreting CQI results.

The workshop is a building block for engineers who are seeking an enhanced knowledge of surface treatment to improve manufactured product performance. It is also an excellent source of general performance information and an introduction to the Certified Electroplater Finisher Program.
