In July-August, 2014, a 29-question global survey titled Conflict Minerals: Help Us Understand Your Challenges was commissioned by AIAG’s Conflict Minerals Work Group (CMWG). The goal of the survey, which was sent to automotive suppliers, was to understand the challenges of conflict minerals reporting for sub-tier suppliers through Tier N. The Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) 4.01 is available now, with a few revisions in the checker tab expected by mid-June. Developed by the Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative (CFSI), the CMR is a free, standardized reporting template that facilitates the transfer of information through the supply chain regarding mineral country of origin, as well as smelters and refiners being utilized.
