Physical handling of the BEV is a relatively new activity for OEM service providers which includes haul-away & rail carriers, ports, vehicle processors, and yard managers. OEMs can help ensure their providers have a good understanding of these requirements by collaborating with them in the new AIAG BEV workgroup. This workgroup team will create an industry publication focused solely on the BEVs, and specific to outbound vehicle logistics from origin plant to final dealer/destination. Virtual workgroup meetings facilitated by AIAG will be held monthly at 3PM EST on the last Wednesday of each month via Microsoft Teams. Mike Arnold, carrier management supervisor at Ford, will Chair this important workgroup along with Bill Kerrigan, vice president of SSA Marine, who will act as co-chair. These two highly experienced individuals are sure to help the team successfully meet their objectives, but *you *are also needed to make this initiative successful! Your participation and knowledge will help create an industry publication that is not only valuable to seasoned professionals, but also a great learning tool for more entry level industry professionals. This workgroup will hold its first meeting on February 24, 2021 at 3 PM EST – and we hope to see you there!
