The Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) 4.01 is available now, with a few revisions in the checker tab expected by mid-June. Developed by the Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative (CFSI), the CMR is a free, standardized reporting template that facilitates the transfer of information through the supply chain regarding mineral country of origin, as well as smelters and refiners being utilized.
The template also facilitates the identification of new smelters and refiners to potentially undergo an audit via the CFSI’s Conflict-Free Smelter Program.
The CMRT 4.0 was posted on April 30, 2015, and is available now for calendar year 2015 data collection. The Declaration function works as planned. However, because a couple of bugs in the checker tab have generated numerous emails to CFSI staff, those items will be revised to ensure that supply chain surveys are not bogged down by concerns about color coding.
CMRT 4.01 will also include an updated Standard Smelter List. The Due Diligence Data Collection Team is testing a revised CMRT this week, ensuring that the bugs are fixed. Some smelter updates will also be performed. The revised form will be posted by or before mid-June.
