Don’t Miss the GHG Workgroup’s Freight Sustainability Webinar

CO2 on wooden bg - blog

Next up in the GHG Workgroup’s Emerging Issues webinars: Engage in Freight Sustainability from Top to Bottom. This FREE webinar will show you how operationalizing freight sustainability leads to solid commitments and new targets, raising the bar for your industry sector.

Kathleen Martz, national regions & affiliate programs manager for EPA SmartWay, shares how building a solid freight sustainability strategy requires support and buy-in throughout your organization, reduces emissions from transportation, and leads to opportunities for recognition from EPA SmartWay.

Martz says, “The approach I’ll be taking is that reducing carbon in logistics starts with a C-suite/management decision to establish freight sustainability as a business-as-usual process, i.e. to operationalize freight sustainability. SmartWay has a kit that advocates can use to move sustainability up to management. Using SmartWay tools and emissions data, management can share with employees how their freight decisions affect the organization’s carbon footprint. And they can track their year-over-year performance, set new efficiency targets and, in some cases, be eligible to receive recognition as either a SmartWay High Performer or a SmartWay Excellence Awardee.”

Save the date and join us on Tuesday, November 10, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am EST for an in-depth look into how using various tools and emissions data, management can share with employees how their freight decisions affect the organization’s carbon footprint.

The presentation will last approximately 45 minutes followed by time for Q&A.
