With contractors typically engaged in high-risk, non-standard work — the kind that causes roughly 40-60 percent of serious workplace injuries and fatalities — contractor safety is a vital element of any organization’s health and safety (H&S) program.
AIAG’s recently released Contractor Safety Management Framework outlines common processes for effective managing contractors in construction environments. The Framework provides information and support for organizations throughout the supply chain, referencing programs, examples, training, and industry best practices from a range of AIAG member companies.
Our next mission is to expand the scope of the document with an addendum — or a new document — to include environmental and service providers. And we need your help!
As a member, you have much to contribute, and volunteering on an AIAG committee or work group gives your company a seat at the table and an influential voice in the discussion. This is your opportunity to represent your company as we enhance this important document to include a broader scope of contractors working at your side.
We need representatives from OEMs as well as suppliers. If you are interested in participating on this committee, please email Lecedra Welch at email@example.com.
