HTS Harmonized Tariff Schedule Overview*: Tuesday, May 7, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Details: Ensure that you are compliant with customs regulations and paying the proper duty on your products. Classification is the foundation for all customs transactions, including the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Correct classification of your products is essential for determining the appropriate fees. The Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) provides duty rates for virtually every item that exists.

NAFTA Content Reporting*: Wednesday, May 8 – Thursday, May 9, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Details: Developed for the automotive industry, this two-day course addresses NAFTA requirements specific to automotive products, including automotive traced values. Benefit from NAFTA and learn how to properly prepare Certificates of Origin, and understand content reporting laws, rules of origin and proof of origin requirements.

Principles of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma: Wednesday, May 8 – Sunday, May 12, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Details: AIAG’s Supply Chain Management team, in conjunction with Wayne State University, is now offering a five-day seminar-style course, Principles of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.  Using a variety of methods – including hands-on exercises and guest lecturers – students will learn core concepts related to managing lean organizations and implementing Six Sigma. Topics covered include lean principles, process capability, value stream mapping, process improvement, and Six Sigma implementation. The course also includes guest lecturers who share their unique, industry-based experiences with lean and Six Sigma tools and concepts.

Global MMOG/LE Implementation Training - Level 1: Wednesday, May 15, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Details: This one-day course is designed to improve materials management efficiency and effectiveness in your supply chain leveraging the Global Materials Management Operations Guideline Logistics Evaluation (MMOG/LE). MMOG/LE is the global standard for supply chain management processes that reduces costs from errors, waste, and workload for suppliers and customers. You will learn best practices to complete the MMOG/LE assessment tool, identify gaps and prepare action plans.
