Don’t miss this unprecedented opportunity to provide your feedback!
As of November 27, 2017, a free draft of the new co-copyrighted AIAG-VDA FMEA Handbook is available for a ninety (90) day stakeholder review and commenting period.
This publication is the culmination of more than three (3) years of collaboration between OEMs and Tier 1 supplier members of the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG), and the Verband der Automobilindustrie (VDA), Germany’s association for automotive manufacturers and suppliers.
The text itself has been completely rewritten, and the FMEA method has been revised in several key areas, with the intention of providing a common foundation for FMEA across automotive industry sectors represented by AIAG and VDA.
Additionally, a new method called Supplemental FMEA for Monitoring and System Response (FMEA-MSR) has been included, which provides a means for the analysis of diagnostic detection and fault mitigation during customer operation to maintain a safe state or state of regulatory compliance.
