It’s hard to believe our 2019 Quality Summit is less than one month away! As we prepare to meet once again at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan, we’re proud to share a few details about our fantastic lineup of speakers.
After opening the summit with industry keynote speaker Martin Ranäng, senior vice president, Supplier Quality & Development at Volvo Truck Group’s Purchasing group, the summit will have its annual OEM session. This year’s panel, featuring representatives from FCA US LLC, Ford, General Motors and Honda North America, will discuss customer specific requirements and announce their transition plans to the AIAG & VDA FMEA Handbook.
In addition to the opening keynote and OEM presenters, Angela Abel and Thomas Rust of Autoliv will discuss “Developing Quality Skills, a Balanced Approach Beyond ‘Training’.” This session will describe the ineffectiveness of “check the box” training and outline a balanced training approach to effectively develop the talent within an organization.
Day two of the summit offers several unique opportunities, and more great content. The day begins with the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) Industry Day, hosted by James Bruin of the IAOB and Sheronda Jeffries, representing the IAF. In addition to their presentations, James and Sheronda will take questions and feedback, allowing attendees to provide direct feedback to the IAF and influence future standard revisions.
After the IAF Industry Day, the focus will continue to be on accreditation, with a Certification Body (CB) Panel Discussion. This session, hosted by Cherie Reiche of the IOAB, allows multiple certification bodies to discuss how they ensure robust ISO 9001 audits, which help ensure better IATF 16949 audits.
At the end of the second day (October 3rd) the summit will conclude with our closing keynote speaker Mark Eaton, an NBA All-Star and league record holder, motivational speaker, author and teamwork expert. Mark will help us end on a high note as he shares his experience on team building and performance improvement.
