AIAG Quality Steering Committee (QSC) Update: Welcoming Shape Corp.’s Tina Noll

Written by AIAG | Jul 19, 2024 8:37:05 PM

With 29 years of experience, including nearly a decade at Shape Corp. alone — and various quality-specific roles prior to joining Shape (e.g., quality analyst, engineer, manager, and director) — AIAG’s newest Quality Steering Committee member, Tina Noll, brings a wealth of expertise to the table.

In her current capacity as global quality systems manager, Tina oversees all aspects of Shape’s quality system for approximately two dozen locations worldwide and focuses on implementing tools, processes, and procedures that facilitate improvement throughout the organization.

Tina has also been a longtime advocate of AIAG for industry professionals, is an AIAG lead auditor (second party) and VDA 6.3 auditor, and contributes to AIAG work groups for various CQIs, including CQI-11 and 12 for plating and coating respectively, CQI-14 for automotive warranty, and CQI-9 for heat treat.

Read on to hear from Tina herself, and stay tuned for more updates from our QSC!

Why do you think it’s important to come together at AIAG and participate in events or volunteer for other activities? To support automotive suppliers, OEMs, and colleagues with quality topics of interest to improve overall knowledge of said topics for the automotive industry.

How do you keep up on what’s new in the automotive/mobility industry? Through AIAG, manufacturing magazines, LinkedIn, and other manufacturing news outlets.

What current or emerging automotive/mobility trends do you think are most urgent to prepare for? Electrification and hybrid vehicles, including software controls and security.

What advice would you offer those just starting out in automotive/mobility? Keep going. There are so many options when you join the automotive industry. I had no idea what a ‘quality analyst’ did when I first joined Dana/Sealed Power in 1995 but quickly learned how much I love working in quality. I also realized how many options there are for someone in automotive manufacturing. Ask for a mentor to help guide you. I am grateful for all of the mentors I have had throughout my career, as they really helped guide me to where I am today.
