The Virtual AIAG Corporate Responsibility Summit is back! This year’s two-day virtual event on April 14–15, 2021, offers attendees the latest insights and industry information on today's ESG concerns. The first day (Wednesday, April 14) offers insights on a wide range of environmental issues. Thursday’s session focus on human rights, sustainability, conflict minerals, and more.

ECHA’s 2021 priorities focus on its core mandate — REACH compliance, restrictions, authorization, harmonized classification and labeling, and biocides active substance approval.

March 2: Introduction of Science-Based targets

AIAG’s Greenhouse Gas Workgroup worked with the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) to develop this webinar to discuss how to start reducing emissions by using science-based targets. Through the science-based targets initiative (SBTI), companies will be able to set targets to help them meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.

As the automotive trade compliance community dives into the second year of USMCA qualification and the corresponding supplier solicitation process, numerous challenges exist as well as new questions around what has changed, including:

• What are the necessary steps to qualify goods under USMCA?
• Which best practices have been identified and what are the steps and processes involved?
• What is expected of us by our OEM or Tier I customers?

In response to requests from OEMs and their service providers, AIAG's Finished Vehicle Logistics Team is launching its new Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) workgroup this month!  

Offered by Wayne State University in cooperation with AIAG, this non-degree certificate program was designed to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of supply chain issues in the context of the global automotive industry.

As the world marks Human Rights Day, the widening societal inequalities brought into focus by the pandemic are a stark reminder of the action needed to advance human rights. The role that companies play, in terms of understanding how their behavior contributes towards respect for human rights, is therefore crucial.
