Today marks another milestone in the automotive industry’s ongoing journey toward responsible sourcing and supply chain transparency. For the first time, six leading manufacturers — Ford, General Motors, Honda, Nissan, Stellantis, and Toyota — have come together in a joint letter to suppliers, signaling a unified approach to forced labor due diligence.
This isn’t to be taken as just another memo. It’s a clear message that the industry is aligned on what responsible supply chains look like in today’s evolving regulatory landscape. Supported by AIAG, this industry collaboration created the Forced Labor Due Diligence Program, featuring a standardized reporting template (DDRT), access to trusted risk screening tools, and comprehensive learning resources — all designed to make meeting government and OEM compliance requirements more straightforward and consistent.
Starting September 2025, OEMs will identify select suppliers that will be required to report forced labor risks through the DDRT, with broader supplier participation rolling out through mid-2026. For suppliers, using this industry-aligned program means less guesswork, fewer duplicated requests, and clearer guidance — helping you be compliant while focusing on what matters most: building an ethical, sustainable supply chain.
At AIAG, we’re proud to help facilitate this industry-wide commitment because when leaders speak as one, the path forward becomes clearer for everyone.
