Save the Date: Carbon Inventory Management Workshop, Part 3 — September 30

Written by AIAG | Jul 30, 2025 1:15:58 PM

The third and final part of AIAG’s complimentary Carbon Inventory Management Workshop is scheduled for September 30, 2025, from 9:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. EST. Registration will open soon on AIAG’s website, so check back for updates.

This completes our comprehensive three-part series, empowering suppliers to transform carbon data insights into actionable improvement plans. Building directly upon the foundational knowledge established in Parts 1 and 2, Part 3 focuses on decarbonization, guiding participants through the practical application of carbon inventory and Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) analytics to achieve meaningful emissions reductions. Designed specifically for automotive supply chain professionals who have mastered carbon accounting fundamentals and PCF methodologies, this workshop focuses on identifying high-impact reduction opportunities, establishing science-based targets, and implementing cost-effective decarbonization strategies across operations and products.

Through interactive exercises, participants will learn to prioritize carbon hotspots, evaluate renewable energy options, assess supplier engagement approaches, and quantify the business case for low-carbon innovations. Industry experts will share case studies highlighting successful carbon reduction initiatives specific to automotive manufacturing processes, material selection strategies, and design optimizations that have delivered environmental and financial benefits.

Attendees will leave with a customizable carbon reduction roadmap, practical tools for tracking progress, and strategies for communicating achievements to customers and stakeholders. This culminating workshop provides the critical link between carbon measurement and meaningful action, equipping suppliers with the strategic capabilities to meet increasingly ambitious customer expectations and regulatory requirements while enhancing their competitive positioning in the evolving low-carbon automotive marketplace.

Parts 1 and 2
The complimentary recordings from Parts 1 and 2 are now available to watch online any time for members and non-members:

  • In Part 1 (about 90 minutes), explore the fundamentals of carbon inventory, including types of greenhouse gases, understanding Scope 1-3 emissions accounting, ISO standards, and the importance of data verification. Hear from experts Avtar Mavi, Lear; Deb Reining, Cummins; Aldo Gomez, Aptiv; Shridhar Rajappanavar, Key Sustainability; and Prabhakar Yellappa, Global PCCS. Watch Part 1 here.

  • In Part 2 (about 130 minutes), the focus is on the critical intersection of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) methodologies, and their implementation in automotive supply chains. Explore the imminent integration of carbon data into the International Material Data System (IMDS) via the eCARB initiative, a shift that will revolutionize how carbon information is tracked at the individual part number level. Hear from experts Gomez, Rajappanavar, and Yellappa again, as well as David Jonas, Dekra; Cathy Carpenter, SupplyOn North America; and Samuel Lopez, Aptiv. Watch Part 2 here.

This virtual workshop series offers valuable insights and practical tools for achieving your sustainability goals. Don't miss out on this opportunity to make a lasting impact on your organization and the planet!
