In late spring of this year, automakers in the United States began ramping up production after a nearly two-month shutdown to contain COVID-19. By then, the virus had sickened millions and killed thousands of Americans and forced businesses across the traumatized nation to close.

In October 2020, AIAG will add a ‘Read Only’ user access level to its CTS Software user profile settings. A Read Only user will be able to view – but not create or edit – CTS content.

Despite the precariousness that has defined the majority of 2020 thus far, the aerospace and automotive industries have not let that uncertainty deter them from releasing two major revisions that directly affect the heat-treating industry. The long-awaited 3^rd edition of the CQI-12 Special Process: Coating System Assessment (CSA) is now available! This new edition supersedes the 2^nd edition assessment which has been active since February 2012.

The CQI-9 Heat Treat Assessment 4^th Edition Webinar, complimentary for all attendees and scheduled for September 17, 2020, will focus on the most significant changes in each section of the new edition.

Following the release of the AIAG & VDA FMEA Handbook on June 3, 2019, AIAG and VDA created an errata sheet to identify items in the original document that needed correction or clarification. While this errata sheet does not change the methodology itself, it does clear up wording on certain concepts, and identifies typing and formatting errors.
