2022 AIAG Quality Summit: It’s a Wrap!

wrap up - blog

With nearly 400 attendees, 19 sponsors, and a full two dozen exhibitors, our 2022 Quality Summit was one for the books.

Following introductory comments from AIAG, this year’s event kicked off with General Motors’ Global Director of Supplier Quality and Development, Chris Mailloux, discussing “Robust Quality Management in Changing Times,” a particularly relevant topic for today’s evolving industry.

After a brief networking break, Chris returned to the stage as part of an OEM panel moderated by the IAOB’s Executive Director James Bruin, and featuring Sunita Shahmehri (STA - NA Operations, Ford Motor Company); Amin Alidina (Vice President - Supplier Operations, Stellantis); and Tony Mariucci (Purchasing - Supplier Characteristics Improvement, Honda). Focusing on “high quality parts” and “high quality people” – specifically with regards to reducing the cost of poor quality – the panel responded to audience questions and provided insights from their respective organizations.

Other sessions this year included those from the IAOB (e.g., their IATF Update and IAOB CB of the Year Announcement), along with Kaplan Mobray’s closing keynote address on “excellence as a choice” and embracing the “now normal.”

After the summit’s conclusion, AIAG shifted gears to focus on its 40th Anniversary Party with a “casino night” celebration benefitting Camp Quality Michigan. A 501(c)(3) non-profit, Camp Quality supports children with cancer by providing summer camping and year-round programs at no cost. As the organization runs on donations, AIAG was extremely pleased to donate 100% of funds raised for this anniversary event – $45,000 – to Camp Quality Michigan at the end of the night.
