As the latest addition to the QSC, Joe looks forward to this next step in his engagement with AIAG. By providing insights on the needs and visions of semiconductor suppliers, Joe’s contributions are sure to prove invaluable as the committee works toward collaborative solutions for common industry issues.

Read on to hear more from Joe directly – including how he encourages his team to stay up to date on what’s happening in the industry, and the advice he’d offer to those just starting out.

Why do you think it’s important to come together at AIAG and participate in events or volunteer for other activities?

Being a Tier 2 semiconductor representative, I believe AIAG participation is important to ensure a direct line of communication with the Tier 1s and OEMs. This will help ensure that suppliers are not caught off guard by any requirements, and the higher tiers and OEMs can understand the challenges Semiconductor companies might have to meet certain requirements.

How do you keep up on what’s new and happening in the industry?

I am lucky enough to be a member of both AIAG and JEDEC. This helps keep me up to date. Additionally, I try to take advantage of, and require my team to participate in, many of the AIAG trainings relevant to our jobs.

Based on your years of automotive (and related) experience, what current or emerging trends do you think are most urgent for the industry to prepare for?

Cybersecurity will become more and more important. And, as we all know, supply chain continuity remains incredibly urgent across all levels.

What advice would you offer to those who are just starting out in the automotive industry?

Listen to experience but be prepared and ready to lead with new thoughts and ideas.
