Last month’s annual membership appreciation event was a success! In addition to being a great opportunity for the AIAG team to connect with our members and enjoy a night out on the town (complete with gaming, food and beverages) the event also provided an opportunity to support an exceptional charity: Camp Quality.

Camp Quality is a unique 501(c)(3) organization that provides a fun summer camping experience – as well as year-round programs – for kids battling pediatric cancer. Volunteer doctors and nurses are on staff 24/7, as are volunteer companions who work and play alongside campers.

Funding for Camp Quality comes entirely from the community, which means that campers (and their families) never see a bill. It also means, however, that donations are always needed, as the number of campers increases each year.

In recognition of the incredible work they already do – and the need for additional funding to continue supporting pediatric cancer patients – AIAG made a commitment this year to give one hundred percent of event registration costs, sponsorship funds and additional donations directly to Camp Quality.

The sum total of these funds came out to a considerable $22,010, which will be used to send more than 130 children to Camp Quality’s medically supervised summer camp and provide year-round support (at no cost) to more than 200 pediatric cancer patients and their families.

As Camp Quality’s Executive Director Jean McDonough noted in a post-event letter to AIAG: “Your partnership and the great leadership of hundreds of dedicated volunteers will allow us to make great strides in providing hope, inspiration and ‘smile’ therapy. Thank you for your heartfelt support.”
