Have you been on YouTube lately? If not, you might be missing out! The International Automotive Oversight Bureau (IAOB) and Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders – Quality Management Division (SMMT QMD) recently released a series of IATF 16949 related videos on their YouTube channel.
Intended to refresh or teach important topics about the IATF 16949 standard and accompanying Rules 5th document, these three to five minute videos feature subject matter experts demonstrating real life audit situations – including best practices and not-so-best practices. Directed toward 1st, 2nd and 3rd party auditors, these video clips provide insight to those interested in auditing as well as those being audited.
Each video begins with a session overview followed by a simulated audit based on actual audit scenarios. The videos feature a portion of a typical IATF 16949 audit and focus on normal points of discrepancy between the auditor and auditee. After the audit scenario, audit feedback is provided – either correcting what went wrong or accentuating what went right. Key learning points are also provided during the final analysis and discussion.
The IAOB and SMMT QMD release these videos weekly on their YouTube channel, which houses the complete video library and includes focused playlists for factory based and office based IATF 16949 audits. Both organizations welcome future topic suggestions and current video feedback, both of which may be shared in the comments section of the YouTube channel.
For more information on these videos or the presenting organizations, please visit the IAOB/SMMT YouTube channel or the appropriate oversight bureau’s website (i.e., IAOB or SMMT QMD).
