It’s Almost Time for the AIAG/AAMA Southern Automotive Quality Summit!

We’re down to the wire! In the final weeks before the AIAG/AAMA Southern Automotive Quality Summit on March 5th in beautiful Birmingham, Alabama, we’re looking forward to hearing from our incredible speaker lineup. You won’t want to miss out on sessions like these!

Morning agenda highlights include the following:

Talent Acquisition and Retention – Emily Lauder, vice president of administration, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi (Corolla Plant), will discuss the challenges of finding, developing and retaining employees in the automotive industry, while providing insight into how Toyota engages their employees.

Quality Improvement Through Team Member Engagement – In this session, Mike Clark – general manager of manufacturing, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama (Engine Plant) – will share Toyota’s approach to quality improvement.

Quality Improvement Through Problem Solving and People Development – Nic Loyd, director, and Jeff Siniard, lean enterprise research scientist, UAH CMER, will examine case studies of quality improvements through people development and engagement using practical problem-solving methods.

Traceability: Implementation and Application – Featuring Dave Welch, senior quality engineer, and Steven Hayes, senior manager of quality engineering, DENSO International America, this session will use case studies to illustrate the implementation and application of traceability systems.

Following a midday lunch break, the afternoon will bring the following sessions, along with closing comments and a fun networking opportunity at the end of the day:

AIAG/VDA FMEA Handbook – This session will feature Scott Gray, AIAG’s director, quality products and services, and Dave Dalby, staff engineer, Honda of America Manufacturing. They will speak to the rewriting of the FMEA manual to harmonize the content of AIAG and VDA FMEA methodologies and include updated tools to handle product and process optimization, and product complexity.

Core Tools Software Project Update and Demo!AIAG core tools software program manager John Cachat will demonstrate the Core Tools Support software, share volunteer contributions from the software design stage, and answer questions about how the software can be used by your organization or suppliers.

People Development and Toyota’s “Build in Quality” Commitment – Amy Moffatt, senior manager of Operations Management Development Division (OMDD), Toyota Motor North America, will share how Toyota’s OMDD supports and leads improvement activities.
