Nearly 250 AIAG members and professionals from the trade and customs community gathered at AIAG’s North American Customs and Trade Town Hall on November 6, 2024. Held at Laurel Manor in Livonia, Michigan, the event marked AIAG’s first in-person Customs and Trade Town Hall in several years.
“It was incredible to be together right after the presidential election and hear reactions and predictions in real-time from the biggest thought leaders in customs and trade regarding what the election results might mean for our industry and the world,” says Myriam Cronk, AIAG’s global customs and trade manager.
The day’s hottest topics included USMCA trade relations, remarks from the new CTPAT Director Dina Amato, trade remedies from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Alexander Amdur, 21CCF —ACE Portal and report demonstrations, and new training from Centipid and CT Strategies. Addressing the challenges of export modernization and forced labor were also top of mind for attendees.
Sponsors and exhibitors were on hand to answer questions and solve attendee pain points, including Livingston, Copper Hill, MIC, Focus Business Solutions, KYG Trade, DiMerco, and Alliance International CHB. Simply Trade produced a live podcast on site throughout the day.
The 2025 Hybrid North American Customs and Trade Town Hall is scheduled for November 6th at a new venue, Elevate. Watch for more information as well as coverage of the 2024 event in future editions of AIAG’s Supply Chain Initiatives Newsletter.
