The IATF 16949 transition deadline is rapidly approaching and many AIAG Certified Supplier Auditors need to renew their certification to complete second-party audits. The question, however, is how to do this without the undue hardship of investing in a five day class. The answer: AIAG’s Transitioning to IATF 16949:2016 for Automotive Auditors course, next offered 3/12 – 3/14, with additional sessions throughout the rest of 2018.

The Transitioning to IATF 16949:2016 for Automotive Auditors class covers the updates in the IATF 16949 standard and allows participants to renew their active AIAG Supplier Auditor Certification. The first and second day of this three day course focus on an in-depth review of the IATF 16949 standard – specifically highlighting the changes from ISO/TS 16949. Day three features a discussion on changes from Rules 4th to Rules 5th, automotive auditing approaches, and risk based thinking in automotive audits, as well as the final exam.

Successful completion of the exam provides a Transitioning to IATF 16949:2016 for Automotive Auditors certificate and an IATF 16949:2016 AIAG Supplier Auditor Certification. (Please note that if your certificate is beyond the expiration date, you will not receive the Supplier Auditor Certification; your expiration date can be found on your Supplier Auditor Certificate).
