Under the Magnifying Glass: Supply Chain Publications

Written by AIAG | Aug 10, 2018 7:28:58 PM

Several of AIAG’s established Supply Chain documents are being revised! The Intercontinental Pallet and Carton Standard (RC-12), and the Basics of Export Compliance publication (TC-7) are both in the final revision phase to ensure the information provided is as up-to-date and relevant as possible.

Additionally, AIAG’s most recent Supply Chain publication, the new Cyber Security 3rd Party Information Security document (CS-1), is available for purchase. This publication provides a unified set of expectations for safely and securely sharing proprietary information, particularly between OEMs and their supplier partners.

Developed at AIAG with GM, Ford, FCA and Honda – and embraced by Toyota, Nissan, Caterpillar, Bosch, Continental and Manga – the document provides automotive trading partners with crucial cybersecurity guidelines and best practices.

While individual OEMs may require additional cybersecurity measures, these guidelines offer a unified set of expectations for safely and securely sharing proprietary information, particularly between OEMs and their supplier partners.

Based on industry leaders’ expertise, established standards, and a benchmarking initiative, AIAG’s publication directly benefits both the OEMs and their trading partners. For OEMs, the benefit is in knowing that their confidential and sensitive data is more secure; for their trading partners, the guidelines allow them to focus on complying with a single set of minimum information security expectations.

Not what you’re looking for? AIAG also has publications for labeling standards, business continuity planning, customs processes, and other publications addressing materials management and finished vehicles logistics (“FVL”).
