During the week of 11 September 2017, the IATF conducted a Stakeholder Conference in Oberursel Germany. The conference included representatives from the 43 Certification Bodies (CB’s) and five supplier representatives for each industry association in the IATF. AIAG also hosted a supplier feedback session in August, allowing approximately 40 additional industry stakeholders the opportunity to provide feedback to the IATF.

The 2017 AIAG Customs Town Hall was a definitive success! We covered a number of extremely timely and relevant topics pertaining to U.S. customs compliance, export control best practices, encryption technology, trade sanctions developments, the ongoing renegotiations of NAFTA, and much more.

Three organizations have rebranded to better represent their growing organizations across multiple supply chains and help them guide companies on their corporate social responsibility paths. EICC becomes the Responsible Business Alliance and CFSI becomes the Responsible Minerals Initiative. The rebranding also extends to the Conflict Free Smelter Program (CFSP).

More than 400 automotive quality professionals attended the 2017 AIAG Quality Summit on September 19-20, 2017, at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan, leaving very few seats in the general addresses and standing-room only in many of the most popular breakout sessions. This level of participation — supported by over 40 exhibitors and sponsors — made this year’s Quality Summit one of the most engaging and valuable quality events in recent years.

AIAG is announcing the availability of the new IATF 16949:2016 Memory Jogger. This valuable reference guide describes QMS implementation and maintenance strategies, answers background questions, and explains the Standard’s requirements. Written in clear and conversational language, the Memory Jogger was designed to be accessible to employees at all levels within an IATF 16949 certified organization.

At AIAG’s 2017 Quality Summit, September 19-20, 2017, at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan, several automakers provided updates on the IATF 16949 certification process to an audience of over 400 automotive quality processionals and answered the industry’s most common questions.
